Privacy
Pick One is a simple polling tool. We collect only what we need to make it work.
What you provide
When you create a poll, we store your question and two options. When you vote, we store your vote choice. No names, emails, or accounts required.
Technical data we collect
To prevent duplicate votes, we create an anonymous fingerprint by hashing your IP address and browser user agent with a timestamp (hourly rotation). This hash cannot be reversed to identify you.
We set two types of cookies: a voter cookie (expires after 30 days) to track which polls you've voted on, and a creator cookie (expires after 90 days) that lets you manage polls you create—all without needing an account.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Analytics for basic traffic insights. It's privacy-focused and doesn't use tracking cookies or collect personal information.
What we don't collect
No accounts, no profiles, no email addresses, no passwords, no names. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking pixels.
How we use data
Your data is used exclusively to: display poll results, prevent duplicate votes, enable poll creators to manage their polls, and maintain service reliability.
Data storage and security
Poll data is stored securely on Supabase PostgreSQL. The service is hosted on Vercel with Cloudflare DDoS protection. All connections use HTTPS encryption.
Sharing and visibility
Polls are visible to anyone with the link. We never sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. Aggregate poll results are visible to all poll viewers.
Retention and deletion
Polls remain active until you delete or archive them (if you're the creator), they expire (if you set an expiration date), or we remove them for policy violations. Vote fingerprints are kept with their polls to prevent duplicate voting. Creator and voter cookies expire automatically (90 and 30 days respectively).
Your control
If you create a poll, you can edit, archive, or permanently delete it anytime—your browser stores a secure creator token. Clear your cookies to remove your creator access and voting history.
